If you found this site through a tokophobia case study, you have probably been doing some quiet detective work. There is a brand called Head Trash. There is another one called Fearless Birthing that says it is powered by Head Trash. There is a podcast called Fear Free Childbirth that seems to belong to neither and both. And somewhere in the case studies there are numbers attached to something called the Ladder of Growth, which turns out to be a different company altogether. This post is here to show how the brands fit together, so you are not left guessing.
Nobody has written this down properly before, so here it is.
Start with the building
Picture a building with one workshop in the middle of it, and several doors into that workshop from the street.
The workshop is the method. One set of tools, one way of working, sixteen years of refinement. It does not change depending on which door you came in through.
The doors are the brands. Each one exists because a different kind of person needs a different way in, and they will not find the workshop if the sign on the door is written for somebody else.
And by the door, on a hook, there is a tape measure. It does not belong to the building. That is the important part, and I will come back to it.
Door one: Head Trash
head-trash.com is the main brand – the mothership – and the front door for people who want to work on themselves. Anxiety, childhood wounds, self-sabotage, the Clearance Club, the healing programmes, the books. If you are here to do the work on yourself, this is the door you want.
It is where the methodology lives in its general form. Not aimed at any life stage, any diagnosis, or any profession. Just: here is what head trash is, here is how you clear it, here are the tools.
Door two: Head Trash Clearance
headtrashclearance.com, the site you are reading, is the professional front door. Training, certification, the Practitioner Network, the specialist tracks.
Head Trash Clearance is the name of the modality. It makes sense that the site that’s all about the method shares the URL. For me, those people interested in the method – what is does, how it works – are those who are super curious, or those with a professional interest. This is why all training information is on this site and not the main Head Trash site.
If you want the Clearance Club or a healing programme for yourself, that is back through door one.
Door three: Fearless Birthing
fearless-birthing.com is the perinatal door. Same method, applied to the layer where reproductive fear and anxiety live: tokophobia, birth trauma, fear of pregnancy, the anxiety that shows up long before anyone is pregnant.
It is a sub-brand of Head Trash, which is why everything there says “powered by Head Trash.” It is not a separate methodology. It is the same clearance work, delivered by somebody who knows what a birth plan is and will not be startled by any of it.
If you are a doula, midwife, antenatal teacher or perinatal therapist, this is usually where you meet the work first.
Door four: Fear Free Childbirth
fearfreechildbirth.com is not a door into the workshop. It is the noticeboard outside.
FFC is a publication and it’s where all of my work in this started in 2015. Today it is the content home for reproductive fear, anxiety and trauma, and it carries the Fear Free Childbirth podcast, which has passed two million downloads and reaches listeners in more than 180 countries.
What it does is give a woman the language for the thing she has been carrying. Which is often the whole job. Somebody who spends three months reading FFC and listening to the podcast arrives at Fearless Birthing already knowing what she wants and why. That is what a publication is for.
FFC and Fearless Birthing are siblings; FFC informs. FB treats and trains.
The tape measure: the Ladder of Growth
ladderofgrowth.io is the one that is genuinely not part of the family, and that is deliberate.
The Ladder of Growth is a measurement framework for human growth: where somebody is now, and whether that is changing. It maps five growth stages through a number of lenses – anxiety, ADHD, your inner professional self – so that you can see the state of your internal world. It scores across dimensions, which is exactly the kind of thing a practitioner needs to see.
It is not a personality test. It does not tell you who you are. It tells you where you are, and whether ‘the work’ is working.
Here is why it sits outside the family. A ruler owned by the person doing the measuring is not a ruler. It is a marketing claim. The Ladder of Growth is a separate company with its own model and its own commercial life, working with practitioners from any method at all. Head Trash is one brand partner among others.
Within the method, it is the third operation. Clearance recalibrates the system. Absolute Healing restructures it. The Ladder of Growth measures it.
How practitioners move through this
The routes are more connected than they look from outside.
Fearless Birthing Practitioner sits between Head Trash Level 1 and Level 2. It is the working credential for birth professionals: doulas, midwives, hypnobirthing practitioners, antenatal educators. Fearless Birthing Advanced runs parallel to Head Trash Level 2, for perinatal therapists and clinicians.
Both convert. If you certify through the birth route and later want to work beyond the perinatal niche, your credential carries across to Head Trash Practitioner rather than starting again. The Level 3 specialist tracks are shared between the two ecosystems entirely.
This is not theoretical. Marise trained through Fearless Birthing as a doula and family wellbeing coach, and now runs organisational work as Workplace Wellbeing Lead. Heather came to the work as a CBT therapist with tokophobia of her own, cleared it, and trained.
It goes the other way too. A general Head Trash practitioner who keeps meeting reproductive fear in the caseload has the option to take the perinatal track and stop feeling out of their depth.
How the brands fit together: the short version
One method. Head Trash is the general brand and the consumer home. Head Trash Clearance is the method itself and the professional training arm. Fearless Birthing is the perinatal application. Fear Free Childbirth is the publication that gets people to the point of asking for help. The Ladder of Growth is the independent measurement layer, and it is independent on purpose. That is how the brands fit together, end to end.
